Transmission Club launch their debut EP, Salt, on Friday 20th November @ 9pm. Hailing from Cork, Ireland, their sonic palette has elements of indie rock, folk and neo-psychedelia. The band's arrangements are textured with various instruments such as harmonium, violin, keyboards and guitars while drum machines and loops are often introduced too. Songs are often recorded on the spur of the moment, sometimes having just been written. This favours capturing a raw, untrammelled take. Themes range from love, death, anger and unresolved bitterness. Recording for Transmission Club takes place in various houses and bedrooms around Ireland. Their lo-fi quality is inspired by bands and artists such as Sparklehorse, Sun Kil Moon, Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens. Band Members Michael Prendiville (vocals, guitar) Arthur Pawsey (vocals, keyboard, guitar) Aine Palmer (violin, concertina) Rob O'Sullivan (bass) Liam Redding (drums, percussion) Transmission Club's live shows are becoming renowned for their energy with the band destroying the distance between themselves and the audience. "I was not prepared for the level of sheer sexual energy oozing from their pores" Skyrockit Music The band have recently released their debut single A Weak Heart which is available on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp. Here is what The Last Mixed Tape had to say about the track. "Indeed, there is a big warm sound to ‘A Weak Heart’ that finds it’s place between the stark emotion of Villagers and raw reverberations of SOAK" Stephen, The Last Mixed Tape
