Olan Cahill This boy wonder is usually gallivanting through the streets putting us, his peers, to shame with his extensively busy efforts as a constantly gigging DJ or in his own life as a busy college student, barber, barman and host of the Studio Session mix series ta’ boot. [The man’s got two jobs! He really don’t need us]. As part of the Cuttin’ Heads and Auxiliary, two of Cork’s sharpest eared DJ crews, he has gigged extensively in Cork with prominent opening slots for Perc and Stranger under the Bastardo Electrico banner as well as a very saucy gig with Diffract earlier this year that rocked the haus. Olan is a fiercely talented mixer and with his love of anything-everything from Grime-bass, break-beat to House, Techno and Electro we’ve asked Olan to really give what for this coming Febuary 2nd and moneys on him delivering. I mean he can cut hair. What a bai! Phiach Now here’s a chap whose polite demeanor and pleasantries masks what can only be described as a dark core harbouring a menacing taste and a mental catalogue of heavy-hitters spilling out over the genre’s of bass, dancehall and techno with more than enough honed skill to rein them together into a jaunty, pounding concoction of floor stamping goodness. Phiach was introduced to us through the hilarious and only barely illegal OutOut parties that have provided some of the best laughs of the last coup’la yonks and introductions to Irelands underbelly of independent promoters and DJ’s, of whom Phiach was one. With appearances at the Baby, Red and Wolf party alongside Dublinite DJ Sewers, as well as Cork Sound Fair, Phiach is gradually rising to a more frequent gigging schedule, and where better to start than with us! Elie & Isaac One’s from over yonder (France) the other from down under (Oz) and both have wound up Cork side. How bad? Both seasoned in their own right, Elie has been gigging rather rapidly throughout Cork since the Summertime and with an upcoming slot alongside Automatic Tasy this coming Xmas we are excited to have him on board with us, with a penchant for House he promises to take us on a ‘cruise of grooves’ (which is the best line I’ve ever heard) while Isaac definitely has his credentials earned from back home in his native Canberra where he has DJed and produced techno under Gate Five as well as running his own parties in a host of venues from city streets to abandoned churches. The two bai’s being roommates we can look forward to a well meshed mix of their two interests and look forward to this French-‘Stralian connection letting loose some music.
