We’re delighted to be hosting Kellie Lewis, Paradox and Takeshi and the Kid for the launch of Bobas Bubble Cafe this Thursday. Kellie Lewis is a 20 year old Irish singer-songwriter living in Cork City. She has played classical piano since the age of 4 and has been singing all her life. Kellie went on to study Music in U.C.C where she is learning the Harp, the Guitar and the Bodhrán. This singer songwriter says that her main influences are The Cranberries and Florence & The Machine. Accompanying Kellie are some very talented musicians, Ben Bickerdike on the guitar, Eddie on the bodhrán and Clare Sands playing the violin. Paradox is a powerful Alternative Rock/Grunge Outfit hailing from Cork, Ireland whose music has gathered rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic for its unique diverse blend of melodic vocals, driven by cutting edge riffs Takeshi and the Kid is (currently) a person electronic music act from Cork, Ireland. It is made up of composer & guitarist Roseweave and her occasional collaborators. The music has a number of different influences. Many of the tracks were composed in a piece of software called a Tracker, however takes it’s leave from the regular Demoscene style music normally composed in it. Nonetheless, there is still a strong video game influence. While a lot of the music is quirky and light hearted, many tracks take their influence from gothic/industrial/darkwave acts, so you’re never quite sure what you’re getting.
